One of those lovely, best-kept-secret restaurants run by a passionate owner, Lockwood’s has been serving up Bistro food in the market town of Ripon for eight years. Come along for one of Matthew Lockwood’s popular tapas nights and enjoy rich Andalusian stew, unbelievably tasty carrot salad and deliciously creamy deep-fried montenebro goat’s cheese with chestnut honey. The rosewater and cardamom ice-cream is a lovely palate cleanser, too. Once you find it, you’ll be returning to this hidden gem.
